  “Heping Chemical’s Chromium residue pollution incident” in Qujing Luliang of Yunnan province once again gives us a wake-up call: It is very important for us to protect our environment. As one of the pillar industries of the national economy the chemical industry has been developed rapidly. We shall provide better protection and increase associated facilities for the environment. Most industrial pollution has long proclaimed the policy of "who polluted, who solves". Therefore, “Environmental Services Development Plan (2011-2015)” formulated by Ministry of Environmental Protection will come soon to fill in the gaps in policy shortcomings and shift the policy to "who polluted, who pays".

 Meanwhile, under the background of pollutant totals control, more than 100 discharge standards including wastewater, waste gas, solid waste, dangerous chemical pollutants and ambient noise will come out in 5 years by Ministry of Environmental Protection. There's been an accelerated process of “select the superior and eliminate the inferior” in chemical industry. The exposure draft of “Technical Specifications of Wastewater Treatment in Monosodium Glutamate Industry” recently issued for comment in order to produce a new discharge standard of industry pollutants.
